Important Notice: US Tariff Policy Adjustment and BuckyDrop Line Adjustments

Based on the recent joint statement from the economic and trade talks between China and the United States held in Geneva, the U.S. Customs has adjusted its tariff policy on low-value parcels imported from Mainland China or Hong Kong, effective May 12, 2025.

Important Notice: US Tariff Policy Adjustment and BuckyDrop Line Adjustments

For parcels with a declared value below USD 800, the tariff rate has been reduced from 120% to 54%, while maintaining the specific duty of USD 100 per item. The planned increase of the specific duty to USD 200 per item on June 1st has been cancelled.

I. Postal Lines:

Currently, we have not received any notification from China Post regarding the resumption of transportation capacity. The BuckyDrop team is actively communicating with logistics partners to strive for the earliest possible restoration of postal lines. We will notify you immediately once capacity is restored.

In the short term, to ensure the smooth delivery of your parcels, we strongly recommend that for shipments to the United States, you prioritize choosing other lines for shipping.

II. Special Lines:

BuckyDrop will gradually reduce logistics shipping fees based on the decrease in logistics costs from logistics providers.

III. Express Lines:

Affected by the U.S. tariff policy, parcels shipped to the United States via UPS/DHL international express lines face the risk of the recipient refusing to pay customs duties. After careful evaluation, starting from 12:00 PM on May 15, 2025, for parcels shipped to the United States via UPS/DHL international express lines, the BuckyDrop platform will charge a customs duty deposit equivalent to 54% of the declared value.

After the recipient pays the customs duties, you can apply to BuckyDrop for a refund of the prepaid customs duty deposit by providing the destination country's tax receipt (tax bill). If the recipient refuses to pay customs duties, resulting in the express company claiming the customs duties from BuckyDrop, BuckyDrop will directly deduct the corresponding amount from the prepaid customs duty deposit, with any surplus refunded and any shortfall charged.

Mainland China UPS / UPS(HK)-5500 / HK DHL Preferential Line(US) / HK UPS Cargo (small) / HK UPS Preferential Line / HK DHL Preferential Line (Heavyl Cargo)(US).

Increase in Logistics Costs:

The significant reduction in U.S. customs tariff rates may lead to tight transportation capacity, consequently causing price increases in logistics lines.

Increased Customs Inspection Rate:

Affected by the U.S. tariff policy, the U.S. Customs inspection rate has significantly increased recently, which may lead to longer transit times. BuckyDrop strongly advises you to accurately declare the value of your goods to avoid customs detention or penalties.

Tax Supplementary Payment:

Due to factors such as customs inspection or insufficient transportation capacity, some parcels in transit may experience delays coinciding with the tariff supplementary payment period, resulting in the need to pay additional taxes.
